Master violinist and recording artist Michael Prince will perform in Waterloo, Iowa, on Saturday, November 2nd, at the Grout Museum for the annual Trap & Paint art night.

Justin (DJ Billi Baker) Baker hosts the annual community event with a different theme each year. The Trap and Paint has become an exciting and positive experience, allowing attendees to enjoy food, music, wine, and socialization while painting. Baker, a local DJ, promoter, and entrepreneur, will award the best painter from the event with a $100.00 cash prize after a social media vote.

Baker intercepted Prince to perform at the event during his 'Hood Orchestra Tour.' Prince has collaborated with hip-hop artists, such as J Cole and Rihanna's partner, Asap Rocky.

The string musician teaches master classes and lessons and is also a cellist. Prince explained that "The Hood Orchestra" gives students across the world the opportunity to showcase WHO they are through WHERE they come from and WHAT they've come through. The term, "Hood" is often used in a negative manner, sometimes placing stereotypes on people of color. However, we believe that the neighborHOOD you come from is what can make you." Prince said his WHY for creating the Hood Orchestra is because "The future of music is in desperate need of a spark." He continues that this movement isn't to promote hip-hop violin. It's for the sake of music.

Prince has roughly 340.8K monthly listeners on Spotify. For tickets or more information on the Trap & Paint, contact 3192290776.
