UnitedHealthcare CEO Murdered Outside NYC Hilton Hotel After Receiving 'Threats' According to His Wife
In a shocking turn of events, Brian Thompson, 50—CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was on his way to speak at the company's investor conference at the Manhattan, New York Hilton hotel when a gunman came from behind and fired his gun multiple times, killing him. Thompson was reportedly struck in the back and his calf, leaving the public in disbelief.
Law enforcement calls the attack a "targeted" and "planned" attack—the shooter used a gun silencer and was possibly a professional hitman. According to NBC News, the CEO's wife confirmed that Thompson had been receiving threats before his death.
Security footage reveals that the shooter waited for the CEO's arrival before shooting the 50-year-old multiple times around 7 AM Wednesday. The gunman reportedly fled on foot before picking up an e-bike and riding into Central Park.

Thompson leaves behind his wife and two children in Minnesota. He was reportedly with the company for twenty years and was promoted to CEO in 2021.
