Teens Charged With Robbery & Assault for an Attack That Left a Houston Woman Paralyzed

A Houston woman, Nhung Truong, 44, became paralyzed after a teenager body-slammed her while trying to rob her for the $4,300 she withdrew from an ATM. Joseph Harrell, 17, and Zy'Nika Ayesha Woods, 19, reportedly followed Nhung from an ATM for over 20 miles to a strip mall before Joseph attacked her. Joseph was caught on camera grabbing Nhung and then running away with her belongings before quickly turning around and slamming her onto the pavement. Joseph is charged with aggravated assault and aggravated robbery. Zy'Nika is charged with aggravated robbery.

The mother of three reportedly took out the cash so she and her children could travel to Vietnam to visit family. Unfortunately, Truong now needs around-the-clock care, yet she is hopeful that she will be able to walk again with rehabilitation. Doctors have reportedly said she has a fifty percent chance of fully recovering. A GoFundMe account is set up to assist with Truong's medical bills, which has already exceeded its $120,000 goal.
