Taylor Swift's Endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris Caused Over 400k Potential Voters to Visit Vote.gov
According to CBS News, Taylor Swift's recent endorsement of Kamala Harris for this year's election increased website traffic by over 400K views on the Vote.gov site after encouraging her online followers to visit the site.
After last week's debate between Vice-President Kamala Harris and former United States President Donald Trump, Taylor posted on social media that she would be voting for Kamala Harris; she said, "I've done my research, and I've made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it's much easier to vote early," she stated, which included a message to visit [vote.gov] in her Instagram story.
The singer has received backlash about her decision to endorse the VPOTUS. Media personality Megyn Kelly quickly berated Swift on her podcast after she announced her endorsement. She stated on her YouTube program, "You can kiss your sales to the Republican audience goodbye, Taylor; hope you enjoyed them while you had them!" Kelly continued, "I'm allowed to criticize Taylor Swift and I don't give a sh** who gets upset. This is disgusting," Kelly exclaimed. "If she wants to vote Harris-Walz, she can do it all she wants, but to say the reason she is doing it is because of Tim Walz (expletive) all of the people who want to see these children have body parts chopped off and watch them sterilized under the age of consent and then will ride off to their multi-gazillion dollar mansions, never to think of them again."
Donald Trump even vented about Taylor's endorsement of Kamala Harris. He stated, "I was not a Taylor Swift fan," Trump said. "It was just a question of time. You couldn't possibly endorse Biden…But she's a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she'll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace."
This year's presidential race will be a close call. Donald Trump's criminal indictments have muddied campaign efforts. He was prosecuted for attempting to overturn election results in 2020. He was also tried for giving hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels after their sexual escapade. Storym said Trump paid her $130,000 in exchange for her silence prior to him being elected as President.
Vice-President Harris has reportedly asked Trump for a second debate. According to multiple news outlets, Trump has turned down the request.
