As reported by FOX Philadelphia 29, a plane bound for Missouri with six passengers crashed into homes and vehicles around 6:30 p.m. at Cottman Avenue and Bustleton Avenue near the Roosevelt Mall. The FAA has not confirmed the number of fatalities. NBC 10 states that at least one minor was on board.

According to FOX 29, "Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker spoke at the scene, urging residents to stay away from the very active scene and to call 911 if they see any debris from the crash. "Stay in your homes," Parker said, stating that several homes and vehicles were impacted by the crash. The mayor did not offer any further details about the crash, but said more updates will come throughout the night, and when daylight comes Saturday."

Married to Real Estate star Egypt Sherrod posted the news on Instagram with the caption, "A plane just crashed in my hometown of Philly on Cottman Avenue. ENOUGH!! It's time to speak up and call it for what it is. It's not politics, it's common sense. Regulations and safety measures that have been put in place to keep us safe are being dismantled with a reckless stroke of a pen. I don't care which side of the aisle you sit on, you cannot possibly agree with the firing of the aviation officials who have spent the life of their careers and are qualified to direct the skies. Inexperience and entitlement got us here. Never dismantle ANYTHING unless you have safety measures and a plan to replace it before you do."

Witnesses say multiple cars and homes caught on fire after the plane went down. There are reports from eyewitnesses who thought they heard thunder before realizing a plane crashed, according to comments obtained by FOX 29.
