Wes Moore made history as the first Black governor of Maryland. He's also the third Black governor in the history of America. Aside from politics, Governor Moore has quite the resume. He earned a bachelor of arts from Johns Hopkins University, he was a Rhodes Scholar, and Moore earned a master of arts degree from The University of Oxford's Wolfson College. The new governor has authored several novels. He wrote and produced Coming Back with Wes Moore on the PBS Network. The show chronicled the experiences of ex-veterans who were able to return home following combat. His work in media landed him an opportunity with the Oprah Winfrey Network as the host of the show Belief.

Moore also served as the CEO of New York City's charity, the Robin Hood Foundation, and was an investment banker. Governor Moore is an Army veteran. He reportedly earned the support of Oprah Winfrey, President Joe Biden, and former President Barack Obama while campaigning for office.

Congrats, Governor Moore!
