According to multiple news sources, rapper Remy Ma's son, Jayson Scott, 23, and a second man, Richard Swygert, 22, have been arrested and charged with the 2021 murder of 47-year-old Darius Guillebeaux in Queens, New York.

The shooting reportedly happened during daylight hours at an intersection in New York. The victim, Guillebeaux, was allegedly shot in the chest and head. Scott and Swygert were charged with first-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment this week.

According to TMZ, Remy released the following statement, "We stand by JaySon's innocence and pray that the NYPD will conduct a complete and thorough investigation to reveal the truth. This is undoubtedly a difficult time for my family and me. While we sincerely appreciate the love and support we have received from all of you, we kindly ask for privacy as our legal team works to prove JaySon's innocence." The statement continued, "As his mother, I want to address this situation personally but have been strongly advised by his legal counsel not to say anything -- as most people in similar situations are informed by their attorneys due to it being an active case."
The New York Post reported that eight months before being shot dead, "Guillebeaux was among the dozens indicted by New York Attorney General Letitia James as part of a large-scale drug trafficking probe dubbed "Operation Heat Wave." Local authorities are reportedly trying to determine a motive for his death.
Jayson walked Remy down the aisle when she married rapper and music producer Papoose, which aired on VH1's Love and Hip Hop New York.
