New York City authorities confirmed Yazmeen Williams' body was found in a sleeping bag that was wrapped inside a trash bag on the sidewalk in the Kips Bay section of Manhattan, New York. Authorities confirmed Yazmeen died from a gunshot wound to the head. A community member told CBS New York she was a "caring" person and "energetic." "She knew people around the neighborhood, so she was very loving—so it's pretty sad." The brutal crime horrified the Kips Bay community, sending residents into a violent rage. Several citizens pummeled Irish as local authorities arrested him.

Nicole Williams, the mother of the 31-year-old victim, is immensely struggling with her murder. Nicole told CBS New York that Yazzy, as most friends and family called her, graduated from Buffalo State University, majoring in Criminal Justice, and wanted to attend law school. Yazzy recently took a job with the city of New York. Another Kips Bay resident remembers her as "the life of the party." "She was sweet, she was smart, she was beautiful." "It's just a shame that she's not here anymore."

New York City authorities have charged 55-year-old parolee Chad Irish for the 31-year-old's death. Chad, who used a wheelchair, allegedly shot Yazzy in the back of her head at his apartment. It is not clear why she was in Irish's apartment. However, her mother referred to Chad as Yazzy's friend. Yet, according to the New York Post, the 55-year-old threatened to kill the college graduate days before he murdered her.

After a surveillance video showed Irish dragging William's body in the trash bag at night while riding in his motorized wheelchair, he was charged with concealment of a human corpse. NYC police have now officially charged the parolee with murder. Irish was described as an abusive person by a resident. He has at least 24 arrests on his record. After being questioned about the surveillance video, Irish told ABC 7 New York, "All I know is I didn't do anything."
