According to multiple media reports, a judge has reportedly blocked Wendy Williams from speaking with the media moving forward for her protection. The Source reported, "In a controversial development, the judge has also issued a strict ruling prohibiting Wendy from any further contact with the media. The decision, which reportedly aims to protect her well-being and privacy, has further fueled public outcry from fans who believe the guardianship is unnecessarily restrictive."
Wendy recently spoke with TMZ, explaining that she had been granted the ability to attend her father's birthday party in Miami. Yet the famous gossip queen reportedly has to be accompanied by private security and return from the trip within a couple of days.
She's confined to a studio apartment at an assisted living facility, where she's required to adhere to court-mandated supervision. Wendy's fans and fellow celebrities are very concerned about the court-appointed conservatorship assigned to her.
The talk show host recently spoke to The Breakfast Club, telling them, "I'm not cognitively impaired," and confirming her desire to regain control of her life. Wendy describes her situation as "emotional abuse." She recently fired her court-appointed attorney and set up a Go-Fund-Me to gain funding to hire a new attorney to help release her from the conservatorship. She was reportedly successful in obtaining enough funding to retain a new attorney.
Her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., has also questioned the legality of Williams' guardianship. According to The Source, Kevin Jr. reportedly said the estate's administrator threatened him with arrest after he was accused of misusing over $300,000 from Wendy's estate.
In 2023, Wendy was diagnosed with dementia and aphasia. Her show, The Wendy Williams Show, aired from 2008 until she started having health complications in 2022. In 2024, the docuseries Where is Wendy Williams? aired and shed light on her health complications, her divorce, and family issues.
