Former WWF Wrestler Hulk Hogan made statements about slamming Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris in a rant about Harris' racial identity.
The out-of-the-blue comments about Harris came while Hogan promoted his beer brand in Ohio. Hogan told the crowd, "You want me to body slam somebody? You want me to body slam Kamala Harris?" He continued, "I said, 'Do you want me to body slam Kamala Harris? Do you want me to drop the leg on Kamala?" While mispronouncing her first name, the Hulk added, "Is Kamala a chameleon? Is she Indian," as he made a hand gesture mocking Native Americans and stated, "I'm gonna get heat for that one, brother."
The former WWE star blamed his behavior on alcohol; he told the crowd, "That wasn't me; that was the beers talking," before drinking a beer in front of the audience. Yet, the former WWE superstar has been called out for harmful and disrespectful commentary before. According to Yahoo News, Hogan is a known Trump supporter with a lengthy history of making controversial and racially disrespectful remarks. Earlier this summer, he was accused of firing one of his beer ambassadors after realizing she was Black. He also was suspended from the WWE in 2015 after a video surfaced of him repeatedly using the N-word. He apologized and was reinstated in the Hall of Fame in 2018.
The 71-year-old had an extensive WWE career and accumulated fans from all cultures, dating back to the '70s as one of the faces of professional wrestling.
