Gucci Mane's, Former Protege, Enchanting, Dies at 26 After Being Taken Off Life Support

Gucci Mane's former protégé, rapper Enchanting, whose real name is Channing Nicole Larry, reportedly passed away today after being taken off of life-support. Several media outlets reported that the 26-year-old suffered from a drug overdose.

Gucci Mane acknowledged the entertainer's untimely passing on social media. Gucci stated, "So sad to have to say R.I.P. to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant."

While some fans commented on Gucci's post that he'd dropped the ball and neglected some of his artists, his wife, Keyshia Ka'Oir, defended the backlash he received by stating, "Leave my husband alone!" She continued, "He signs these artists to help them & give them a better life! I wish it wasn't like this! Chant we love you baby girl! RIH."

The Shade Room reported that a member of Enchanting's management team said they had been helping the rapper overcome her addiction, "She came to my house the last four days to get clean." They added, "She tried her best, and I did everything I could to help her, she tried."

Some onlookers consider Gucci's 1017 record label to be cursed, as many artists from the label have died and had ill fates. XXL said the news of the starlet's death further encouraged this rumor; XXL said, "The number of times artists from 1017 have suffered ill fates has caused people to speculate that there is a curse on the label. In January of 2022, Hotboy Wes was arrested on a robbery charge in Texas. In April of 2022, Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to over five years in prison after pleading guilty to a firearm conspiracy charge. That May, Foogiano was sentenced to five years in prison after melting off his ankle monitor and going on the run when he was on bond for a firearm possession charge."

The story continued, "In December of 2022, Big Scarr died from an accidental prescription drug overdose. In January of 2023, Mac Critter was arrested and charged with murder. This past February, FTO Sett was arrested after his bond was revoked on weapons and drug charges."

Enchanting's fans showed an outpouring of love. Although no official cause of her death has yet to be given, her sister made a post on social media saying she wished the news of her sister's death was unreal.

It appears the former 1017 artist was trying to find her way back; she posted on Instagram roughly a week before her death, announcing new music.
