Comedian and radio personality Wanda Smith from Atlanta's V-103 passed away one day after her 58th birthday on October 12th.

V-103 released a statement via their Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Rick Caffey: "Our hearts are weighing heavier today as we grieve the loss of our beloved Wanda Smith, someone who always made us smile and who was a big part of V-103 for years. We extend our deepest prayers and condolences to her family,"

Wanda worked in the entertainment industry in various capacities for decades, including co-hosting the Atlanta radio show Frank and Wanda in the Morning. Smith wrote comedy for the Def Comedy Jam show and appeared in the Tyler Perry productions Madea Goes to Jail and Madea's Witness Protection.

Wanda had a memorable on-air spat with Katt Williams on V-103 in 2018 that went viral. Following the comedians' on-air exchange, Smith's husband reportedly confronted Katt with a gun at the Atlanta Comedy Theater. It's unclear if the two comedians ever repaired their relationship after their widely watched debacle.

Yet, fellow comedians and colleagues have been showing an outpouring of love over the comedian's sudden death. Rickey Smiley immediately shared his condolences on Instagram with a photo tribute of his fellow entertainer with the caption 💔💔💔🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 #WandaSmith.

Ed Lover said, "Taking the time out to say rest in peace to #wandasmith ! Your candor and infectious spirit and laughter will be forever missed. You definitely left an indelible mark on me! Love you forever my friend!" #gonetoosoon

The Miami native's passing comes about a month after she shared a photo tribute on Instagram for Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan, who died in September. Wanda said, "So glad we got to laugh and chat....Got to live this here lifestyle.

May she rest in peace.
