Chris Brown's 11:11 Tour Sold Out South Africa's FNB Stadium That Holds Over 90K People Two Nights in a Row
Chris Brown sold out South Africa's largest stadium (FNB Stadium) while packing the venue with over 90,000 fans each night during his 11:11 tour.
Despite a viral online petition created by a South African women's advocacy group that attempted to stop his performance in Africa, Chris performed on Saturday and Sunday for South Africa. The tour is headed to São Paulo, Brazil, for two consecutive shows before returning to the United States to tour in Los Angeles in January. Breezy reportedly earned $9 million from only three shows and constructed the tour without major sponsors or financers.
Despite his shortcomings in entertainment, Chris is considered this generation's 'Michael Jackson.' Many Michael Jackson fans and Brown's music industry peers feel his talent closely mirrors the late King of Pop, who was considered one of the most astonishing entertainers the world had seen.
The tour's success comes in hand with his current album, 11:11, which won the top R&B album for the Billboard Music Awards. Breezy is the first R&B artist of the 21st century to chart music for 20 consecutive years. The Virginia native has more top 40 hits of any R&B singer in history; he's Billboard's most decorated artist on the Hot R&B charts and has the most RIAA Gold and RIAA Platinum certified singles.
Brown thanked South Africa's fans, saying, "This is a moment I've waited for my entire life."
