Atlanta Music Producer D Billy Shot to Death by Son During a Confrontation

An Atlanta music producer and engineer, Clinton Dorsey, 48, who goes by "D-Billy" and "D-Billz," was shot and killed by his 22-year-old son, Edward Dorsey, after an argument. According to WSB-TV Atlanta, the father and son had a dispute about their family dog breeding business. Edward has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.


Sgt. John Clifford with the Brookhaven Police Department stated, "They were having an argument over the family business of dog breeding. The argument turned physical. From that, the son went and retrieved a semi-automatic pistol and shot and killed Mr. Dorsey."

Clinton was credited as an award-winning, certified platinum music producer. D-Billy worked with a plethora of artists, such as BRS Kash, Lil Baby, Da Baby, City Girls, YFN Lucci, Fatt Sosa, VL Deck, Peewee Longway, Jose Guapo, Rich Da Khid, Khaotic, and more.




Clinton's business partner, Kal Austin, told Fox 5 Atlanta there was a deep-rooted issue in the relationship between Clinton and Edward. However, the father and son bred French bulldogs, which was a very lucrative source of income for them. Austin explained that the music producer and his son were visiting him at his home when the shooting took placehe said he'd stepped out for a moment when the confrontation started. Austin is deeply saddened as he was close with the D-Billy and Edward; he told the news outlet, "Rest in peace my good brother, I love you."
