Atlanta Area Man With Viral Mugshot Killed at Gas Station After a Dispute About a Car Purchase
An Atlanta-area man, Devon Loritts, whose mugshot went viral, was reportedly shot and killed in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, over a dispute about a car shortly after bonding out of jail. Devon's mugshot went viral after several social media users considered him good-looking in his mugshot.
According to WSMV, Devon was shot dead at a gas station in Murfreesboro on Wednesday afternoon.
WSMV reports that the 23-year-old was shot several times before later dying at a hospital. Loritts brother was present at the crime scene and was also reportedly shot in the arm but is in stable condition.
Local authorities charged 26-year-old Juan Charco, of Antioch, Tennessee, with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder in connection to the case. Loritts allegedly purchased a car from Charco. There are no details on why the car was driven from Georgia to Tennessee. Yet, the vehicle was tracked to the 7-Eleven Exxon on Joe B. Jackson Parkway in Murfreesboro, where the fatal shooting occurred Wednesday.
Surveillance shows two assailants pull up in a black pickup truck-they exited their vehicle and opened fire on two victims in a Mercedes. They pulled one victim out of the Mercedes while beating him, as the other victim laid on the ground.
Charco is being held on a $1.5 million bond in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. This story will be updated. To subscribe to Volume 82, click the link. To follow our Instagram, click here; for TikTok, click here!
