According to VIBE, Atlanta Police names the rapper Lil Baby (Dominique Jones) in a warrant about the deaths of two teens. Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman, both 13, were killed following an alleged gang shootout, which injured three men at Lil Baby's video set last July.

As reported by Fox 5 Atlanta, Lil Baby shot his video at the 2100 block of Verbena Street NW, an area known to be occupied by his rival gang members.

According to FOX 5 Atlanta, a third person, eleven-year-old Dontavious Davis, Jakody's brother, was also shot with the teens, but survived a gunshot wound to his foot.

The boys were reportedly killed at the Sparks Apartments on (Sparks Street SW). As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, "Witnesses reported that the Davis brothers had left their apartment just before midnight to wish Freeman a happy birthday when they were ambushed. Surveillance footage from multiple locations confirmed the presence of two suspect vehicles—a white Nissan Maxima and a gray Nissan sedan—that circled the apartment complex twice before six armed individuals exited and opened fire. It is not clear if the boys were the intended targets or not.”

Atlanta's authorities reported to WSB-TV about the incident at a press conference on (February 26). VIBE reports that Major Ralph Woolfolk of APD's Violent Crime Interdiction Section explained that, in the days after Lil Baby's video shoot in rival gang territory, authorities could trace several shootings that were connected to his music video. Local authorities also speculate that a "high-ranking member of the opposing [Baby's] gang called a 'hit' from a Georgia prison."

Woodward stated during the press conference, "The cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go into a rival gang stronghold in a place he knew he should not have been. This team will work relentlessly to hold [Lil Baby] accountable." Woodward reminded press conference viewers that "Lamon Freeman was allowed to be a 13-year-old for 27 minutes before gang violence ultimately took his life."

APD has charged seven men affiliated with the Goodfellas Gang for the murders of Davis and Jones. A $50,000 reward is available for information regarding this case.
