Actor Val Kilmer has reportedly passed away at the age of 65. His daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, informed The New York Times that he died from pneumonia in Los Angeles.

Val was a talented actor known for his impressive roles in various Hollywood films, including Batman Forever, Heat, Tombstone, and Top Gun. He faced significant health challenges over the years, including a battle with throat cancer.

Kilmer underwent a tracheotomy due to his condition and used a voice box at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021 while promoting his documentary, Val. This device clearly affected his ability to act; however, he made a notable appearance in Top Gun: Maverick (2022), reprising his role as Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, with his voice digitally restored for the film.

Before his passing, Kilmer released a statement on his website, saying, "My name is Val Kilmer. I'm an artist. I've lived a magical life. For more than half a century, I have been honing my art, no matter the medium. Whether it be literature, movies, poetry, painting, music, or tracking exotic and beautiful wildlife in the most remote African bush, to capture ephemeral moments with a camera, I yearn to express my creative spirit."

Kilmer is particularly celebrated for his portrayal of the real-life character Doc Holliday in the film Tombstone. Fans online are quoting his iconic line from the movie, "I'll be your Huckleberry," which he delivered just before a gunfight with Johnny Ringo. A native of Los Angeles, Kilmer attended school with Kevin Spacey and later studied at the Juilliard School in New York, becoming one of the youngest students ever admitted to its prestigious acting program at the age of 17.

Another user commented, "Awesome actor, rest in peace, my friend." One Instagram, one user responded, "Damn. That’s a jaw-dropper." Kilmer was an iconic talent, and he will be deeply missed.
